The Neuroscience Clinical Interest Group (CIG) will host their next webinar on Can Chiropractors Provide Safe and Effective Treatment for Neck Pain presented by Dr Pierre Cote and will be held Wednesday 12 June 2019.
Dr Côté is an epidemiologist and chiropractor, Canada Research Chair in Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation and Professor in the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology. He is also the director of the UOIT-CMCC Centre for the Study of Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation and an Associate Professor of Epidemiology at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health at the University of Toronto.
Dr Côté graduated from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in 1989 where he subsequently completed the Clinical Sciences Residency Program in 1991. In 1996, Dr Côté obtained a Master's Degree in Surgery from the University of Saskatchewan, where he studied the epidemiology of neck and back pain in the general population. He completed his PhD in epidemiology at the University of Toronto in 2002.
At the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Inform patients and others from an evidence-based position about the safety and efficacy of neck manipulation
- Adopt an evidence based position on the management of neck pain
- Inform policy making with evidence rather than opinion
- Increase personal confidence in the application of cervical spine manipulation
